Why “activated”?
The hazelnuts are immersed in purified water until the seed begins to sprout (or is freed from its dormant state). They are then slowly dehydrated at low temperature until they become light and very crunchy—about 5% lighter in weight through this process. This method is intended to improve digestibility and intensify flavour, offering a raw-style nut that’s fresh, crunchy and clean.
